The recent rains may have slowed down the production for a few days, but now there seems to be plenty.  Supplies out Santa Maria, the desert, and Mexico are abundant.

Cabbage

Cabbage
steady

Moderate supplies from Florida expected to slightly decrease. Prices on Red type generally unchanged, others lower. Quality is good.

Carrots

The carrot market continues steady at this time despite fair supplies.  That being said expect to see supplies limited for the next few months as USDA Farm to Family box program kicks in for another round.  Jumbo and cello market is inching back up; call to get your order on the books.  Demand for snack carrots continues strong and advance ordering is a must.  Look for prorating to be a possibility on snacks.

Cauliflower

Cauliflower
steady

Cauliflower demand is steady. The quality and condition have been good. Fewer supplies both in Santa Maria and Yuma has got the market up some. Still some deals on 9s and 16s.

Celery

Celery
steady

The market has calmed a bit as demand has dropped off. Some shippers are expecting light supplies into next week which can hold the market from completely tanking.  Good quality overall.

Green Onions

The market continues to stay hot. Labor shortages along with tight supplies makes for a healthy market.  Expect markets to remain active for the next 14 days.

Green Leaf Lettuce

Like the Iceberg lettuce situation, optimum growing conditions have created plenty of GREEN LEAF lettuce. No change in the market for the next couple of weeks.

Iceberg Lettuce

Iceberg Lettuce

There is plenty of ICEBERG lettuce in the desert.  Perfect weather and a slow down in demand has created an abundant supply.  The current market levels will remain for the next couple of weeks.

Red Leaf Lettuce

Red Leaf Lettuce

The RED LEAF market, like the rest of the lettuce varieties of lettuce, is plentiful.  Do not look for much change for a couple of weeks.

Romaine Lettuce

Romaine Lettuce

Plenty of ROMAINE lettuce is available.  A slow down with demand coupled with ideal growing conditions in the desert has made for an over-supply of product.
