The Broccoli market has adjusted down to normal levels with the bunch, and the crown cut market is not far behind. Now that the initial transition period is over, supplies are starting to build in the desert. Mexico also continues to increase with supplies.
Moderate supplies from North Carolina and Georgia. Prices are lower. Quality is variable.
The carrot market is relatively steady at this time despite just fair to good supplies. Jumbo and cello are struggling again with most states done for the season this leaves Calif as the year-round supply source. Demand continues strong for baby and processed product as well… Snack packs are struggling to keep up with the demand. As such shippers are not taking on any new business and are prorating regular orders…. this is expected to last at this rate into the new year.

The market is steady, green onions have been very nice with aggressive pricing. Should remain this way throughout the month.
With the transition to the desert region over, and growers are fully into their fields, the GREEN leaf market has adjusted. Supplies have increased enough to remove contract triggered prices.
The transition period is over and all Iceberg lettuce shippers are into their second and third fields. Markets have adjusted down and industry contact trigger pricing has been removed. We may see a bounce in pricing in 7-10 days as another Holiday pull helps to react markets. Desert quality reports have looked good.
The RED leaf supplies have increased in the desert enough to bring the market down. Quality and weights have improved.
Of all the leafy items, ROMAINE has the biggest upside in the market. Retail and processed business are keeping the supply chain moving, but like all leafs, Romaine too will adjust downward, just slower than the other colors.
