Green bell prices are down this week. The product is shipping from Coachella. Nogales has also started crossing product. Red, Yellow, and Orange are a little higher this week. Good supplies from Florida as more shippers begin the season. Prices are lower. Quality is generally good. We can expect moderate supplies from Georgia as some shippers are finished for the season. Prices are higher.


Chiles

Movement expected about the same. Trading on Anaheim active at much lower prices, Habanero active at slightly lower prices, others active. Others generally unchanged. Quality is variable.


Corn

Moderate supplies from Florida. Prices are lower. Quality is generally good.


Cucumbers

Cucumber prices are down. Product is crossing through Nogales. Supply has improved and quality is nice. Steady supplies from Florida expected to remain unchanged.  Prices are generally unchanged.  Quality is good overall.


Eggplant

Moderate supplies from Florida expected to remain about the same. Prices are lower.  Quality is generally good.

NW Onions Demand is good; prices are flat on all colors. While overall FOB prices are fairly stable, freight is a challenge, to say the least. Christmas trees are taking up many trucks adding to the fun. All colors of Organic Onions are available albeit at higher pricing this season.

Mt Vernon: Good availability on all varietals this season. All colors are available including Fingerlings. Organics are available. Eastern WA continues with a small supply of Red & Yellow potatoes to go perfectly with your russet and onions orders. Quality is good. ORGANIC colored spuds are available as well.

The market is steady. Large potatoes are in good supply. Demand is higher for small size cartons and consumer packs. No anomalies are being reported from any district, other than the obvious lack of the Food Service movement. It will be smooth sailing well into the spring. The only catch may be that there will be a slight shortage in Eastern Canadian potato supplies by early spring, which may in turn have positive effects for USA potato supplies. Quality is outstanding. Organic Russets are available.

Steady supplies from North Carolina and Mississippi. Moderate supplies from Louisiana expected to decrease slightly. Prices are generally unchanged. Quality is good overall.


Soft Squash

Zucchini – Zucchini supply has improved; prices are down. The product is crossing through Nogales. Quality is nice. Moderate supplies from Florida expected to increase. Prices are much lower. Quality is generally good.

Yellow Squash – Yellow squash is down this week, supply has improved. The product is crossing through Nogales, quality is good. Steady supplies from Florida expected to slightly increase.  Prices are lower. Quality is generally good.

The East: Due to cooler temperatures and growers in transition; volumes have dropped over 20%. It will be a few weeks until more growers are online for the volume to recover.

The West: Supply is now turning to steady with Central Mexico and Nogales is getting online.

The East: Mirroring the rounds; volume has become steady and sizing is down.

The West: The fruit coming up from Mexico and Baja is still light, more consistent volume is expected towards month-end.

East Coast: Harvests are steady yet sizing is running 6×6’s or smaller and the weather has yet to warm allowing the sizing to increase, look for this to continue for the next month.

West Coast: Baja has light volumes as well as Eastern Mexico. This will continue until Mid to now late December when Western Mexico comes online.
