We are in the middle of a very good market. Limited supplies this week, coupled with an increase in demand has advanced the market. Look for more of the same next week. New fields with increased volume will not become available for 7-10 days.
Moderate supplies from Michigan and Virginia. Prices are unchanged. Quality is good overall.
Carrot market steady with good supplies. Growers are seeing better supplies of Jumbo and cello size in the fields which is a plus. Demand for snack carrots continues strong and advanced ordering is still the way to go.
Demand has been fairly light with a wide range in quality & condition. Markets are slightly lower. Plenty of deals on 9s & 16s.
Market steady, no real change on celery. Good supplies with nice quality, expect markets to stay fairly flat for the next few weeks.
Market is higher, Mexico rain and warm temps have shortened up supplies due to poor quality. Region deals are going strong. Expect the market to stay active for the next couple weeks.
There appears to be little interest in GREEN leaf lettuce. Supplies are limited, but demand is down. Dog days of August.
The ICEBERG lettuce market continues to move slowly but smartly. Summer volumes continue to be limited, and demand equals supplies. Consumers are still spending monies on back to school and not vegetables. Look for more of the same next week
Summer supplies are still limiting the RED leaf lettuce, but there appears to be better supplies of Red leaf going into next week. Still a depressed market.
There seems to be a pulse in the life of romaine and romaine hearts. Good demand has kept this market up. Summertime supplies are still limited, but a healthy interest will keep this item moving along.
