Green bell prices are up this week. California is harvesting, supplies have tightened, Bakersfield is winding down, production will move to Fresno. Red, yellow and orange bells are steady this week. We can expect steady supplies from North Carolina. Prices are higher. Very light supplies from Georgia as shippers are generally finished for the season.

PNW Onions: Demand remains strong. Market has steadied. Consumer packs continue to be in high demand. Reds are tight & whites are even tighter. Overall quality and condition remain excellent on these storage onions. Mexico: The movement is expected to decrease seasonally; trading is moderate. Supplies in too few hands to establish a market.
Colored potatoes are about a week or 2 from getting started in eastern WA. Pricing will be strong to start. Western WA to begin in September.
NW russets continue to have strong FOBs on the larger sizes, with most shippers packing the smaller sizes & not much volume on the larger sizes. New crop WA russets are set to start the last week of July into the 1st week of August.
We can expect moderate supplies from North Carolina, Louisiana and Mississippi. Prices are generally unchanged. Quality is generally good.
Zucchini – Zucchini prices are up this week, supplies are a little lighter, quality is good. Product is available in California. Moderate supplies from Michigan, North Carolina and Virginia. Prices on zucchini is higher. Quality is generally good.
Yellow Squash – Yellow squash prices are also up this week. Same as zucchini, product is available in California, quality has been good. Moderate supplies from Michigan expected to increase as more growers start harvesting. Prices are unchanged. Quality is generally good.
The East: Volume is steady as more areas come online; there are weather related issues yet they are being graded out by the growers.
The West: Baja is still very light on their supply while demand is still high. Older crop quality is fair while the new crop’s quality is good.
The East: Supply is starting to balance out as more growing regions come online.
The West: West Mexico and Baja’s 1st picks are both almost done while Eastern Mexico is still slow in building inventories. Almost all of California’s growers have come online and some are in 2nd plantings. We are seeing some heat related issues due to the recent heat.
The East: Rounds there are many growing regions winding down and others are starting to scratch. Volume is enough for demand, we should see an increase in the 14 days.
The West: Baja supply has steadied yet sizing is starting to go down. CA is steady as well yet sizing is down due to the recent heat. Quality is variable across the region.
