We are in the middle of a very good BROCCOLI market. Limited supplies this week, coupled with an increase in demand has advanced the market. Look for more of the same next week. New fields with increased volume will not become available for 7-10 days.
Steady supplies from Michigan and Virginia. Prices are unchanged. Quality is generally good.
Carrot market steady with good supplies. Growers are seeing better supplies of Jumbo and cello size in the fields which is a plus. Demand for snack carrots continues strong and advanced ordering is still the way to go.
Cauliflower demand is good. Wide range in quality & condition. Markets are slightly higher with deals on 9s & 16s sizes. Santa Maria has had less volume but still plenty around.
Market steady, no real change on celery. Good supplies with nice quality, expect markets to stay fairly flat for the next few weeks.
Market is higher, Mexico rain and warm temps have shortened up supplies due to poor quality. Region deals are going strong. Expect the market to stay active for the next couple weeks.
Better demand for the limited supplies of GREEN leaf. We have seen the market advance slightly this week, but should be steady next week.
We witnessed a better market with ICEBERG this week. Limited supplies with an increase in demand have helped to advance the market. Look for much of the same as we head into the new month.
Limited supplies of RED leaf being harvested during the summertime have not made a difference in the market. This is a depressed leaf item.
ROMAINE leaf appears to be the only leaf item with life in the market. Again limited plantings for the Summer have created limited availability of product. Demand has increased for Romaine and Romaine Hearts thus helping to jump the market on both.
