Supplies continue to be plentiful. BROCCOLI continues to be grown in many areas and also Canada. With most states promoting “Buy Local” interest for California broccoli will continue to be low.
Steady supplies from Michigan and Virginia. Prices are unchanged. Quality is generally good.
Carrot market steady with good supplies. Growers are seeing better supplies of Jumbo and cello size in the fields which is a plus. Demand for snack carrots continues strong and advanced ordering is still the way to go.
Cauliflower demand is good. Wide range in quality & condition. Markets are slightly higher with deals on 9s & 16s sizes. Santa Maria has had less volume but still plenty around.
Market steady, no real change on celery. Good supplies with nice quality, expect markets to stay fairly flat for the next few weeks.
Market is higher, Mexico rain and warm temps have shortened up supplies due to poor quality. Region deals are going strong. Expect the market to stay active for the next couple weeks.
The Summer limited plantings have finally made a dent in the GREEN leaf market. With available supplies down, and demand increasing, this market has shown some life. Quality looks good and we will be paying more next week.
Better interest in ICEBERG lettuce this week helped to raise the market. We are still showing limited supplies due to smaller Summer plantings, but there is still plenty available for all our needs. Could be a shortage (problems in the fields) in 3 weeks, will advise.
Summertime Blues continue, as demand for all leaf items are down. There are just limited volumes of RED leaf, but demand is also limited. No market change.
ROMAINE continues to show some life in the marketplace. The Summertime supplies are limited, but there seems to be adequate demand to keep the market in double-digit range. Romaine Hearts continue to be moving smartly.
