While still somewhat active for some shippers, the majority of Broccoli growers in California are feeling less demand and better supplies. East Coast farms are in peak production, helping to take some pressure off of the California demand. California’s market is adjusting down.
Moderate supplies from Georgia. Prices are unchanged. Quality is generally good.
The conventional Carrot market is up, supplies expected to stay tight until mid-August limiting jumbo and cello availability. This demand is even starting to be felt on the baby. Although no change in markets here is expected.
Cauliflower demand is fair. Quality and condition have been good. Plenty of flower through next week in Salinas and Santa Maria. Markets look to be steady with deals on 16s and 9s.
The market feels a bit softer as Michigan and other local deals will start. No real issues to report at the moment, quality overall is excellent.
Market pricing is higher as regional suppliers have encountered weather issues. Supplies out west are also down, Mexico warm temps have taken a toll on crop quality. Expect the market to remain strong for the next couple of weeks.
