New crop reds & yellows have begun. Sizing is currently smaller than average, but we will see good sizing this season. Consumer packs continue to be in high demand. Overall quality and condition remain excellent on the few remaining storage onions, that are left. Mexico – Movement expected to decrease seasonally; trading is moderate. Supplies in too few hands to establish a market.
New crop reds & yellows have begun in eastern WA. Pricing is strong to begin the season. Western WA to begin in September.
NW russets continue to have strong FOBs on the larger sizes, with most shippers packing the smaller sizes & not much volume on the larer sizes. New crop WA russets have started.

Zucchini – Zucchini prices are up a little this week, supplies are steady. Product is available in California and a few local deals will be starting soon. Quality has been nice. Light supplies from North Carolina as some producers continue to experience a production gap. Prices are slightly lower. Good supplies from Michigan and Virginia. Quality is generally good.
Yellow Squash – Yellow squash prices are up this week, supplies are tight. Same as zucchini, product is available in California. Steady supplies from Michigan and Virginia. Prices are generally unchanged. Quality is good.
The East: Crops are steady although a bit on the light side quality is good; down due to labor shortages. Small volumes are starting to cross from Central Mexico via the Nogales port of entry.
The West: West Coast supplies are light due to recent rain events in California and Baja. Central Mexico has more supply however crossings have been light. Expect the balance of the season to be tight.
The East: Romas are in the same boat as the Rounds.
The West: Baja’s will remain in light supply until at least September. East Mexico has increased crossings which has helped the overall supply. Due to recent heat California has had lighter yields.
The East: TS Fred effected East Tennessee & Western North Carolina and limited harvest. Expect to see quality impact from the rain for a few weeks. Supply is being limited due to the storm across the growing areas.
The West: Vine Ripe production in Baja will be tight until fall. Supplies are being offset with Eastern Mexico and Oceanside. CA remains light due to previous heat.
