Green bell prices are up this week. The production season in Mexico is coming to an end. Some growers have started in California. Red, yellow and orange bells are up this week. We can expect good supplies from Florida. Prices on Jumbo slightly lower, others lower. Quality is generally good.
Movement expected about the same. Trading early is fairly active, late moderate. Prices on Anaheim lower, Jalapeno and Habanero slightly lower, others generally unchanged. Quality is variable.

PNW Onions: Demand remains strong. The market has steadied. TX has a short crop this season and will be done in the next several weeks. Consumer packs continue to be in high demand. The California Brawley district will begin harvest of conventional as well as Organic onions by late April. There have been some cool weather that slowed it down a bit. PNW Yellow sweets are available. The overall quality and condition remain excellent on these storage onions. Mexico- Movement is expected to decrease seasonally. Trading Moderate. Prices Jumbo lower, medium unchanged.
Mt Vernon: Good availability on all colors this season. White potatoes are finished for the season. Yellow demand has increased but prices remain fairly steady. Yellow and Reds will be available into late April, along with Fingerlings and purple potatoes. Organics are available.
Demand and disappearance have increased in ID and CO, however, in the PNW districts movements are lower this year compared to last. Idaho appears to have a surplus of potatoes this season which is reflected in the higher disappearance and lower prices this season. Large potatoes, however, are a bit tight in the potato state. Overall, the PNW crop may end up a bit short before the new crop begins in July. Large size russets continue to be a hot item in WA/OR with heavier demand. NOTE: Price increases on Large tubers are expected over the months to come due in part to supply and quality concerns as well as the foodservice sector opening up over the summer. Quality remains outstanding.

Zucchini – Zucchini prices are up this week, supplies have tightened. There is some product crossing from Baja. Quality is good. We can expect good supplies from Florida. Prices on Zucchini are much lower. Quality is generally good.
Yellow Squash – Yellow squash prices are steady this week. Product is crossing through Nogales and from Baja. We can expect good supplies from Florida. Prices on Yellow straight neck are much lower. Quality is generally good.
The East: Volume is now steady with good quality no changes in the foreseeable future.
The West: Mexico supply has evened out and the quality is good.
The East: Production out of Florida is flush with light demand.
The West: Mexico’s volume is steady.
The East: Many factors are contributing to the volume flush; new fields, the weather is ideal as well as great outputs. So come and get them!
